Eid-ul-Adha 2003 (1423 A.H.) Message

by Hazrat Ameer (V) Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Saeed

Dear Members of the Jamaat,

Assalaam-o-Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah-hi-Wa Barakaatohu.

The holy month of Zil-Hajj [the 12th month of the Islamic calendar] has begun and we shall, Insha-Allah [Allah Willing], be celebrating Hajj [Pilgrimage] and Eid-ul-Adha [The Eid of Sacrifice] in a few days. These blessed days are of special significance as they renew in us the spirit of total submission to the will of Allah and readiness to sacrifice all as exemplified by Hazrat Ibrahim [Abraham] (May Allah bless him).

We all know the turmoil and crisis the Muslim Ummah is facing today. The difficulties faced by our Jamaat are even greater. However, our Jamaat is an embodiment of selflessness and sacrifice and is prone to facing hardships at every step. Alhamdo-lillah (All Praise be to Allah), even under such trying conditions we are advancing towards our goal with patience and steadfastness — a goal which Allah points out through His chosen ones. Hazrat Masih-i-Mauood [Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Sahib of Qadian], who was one such servant of Allah, showed us the way to this destination.

Our noble mission can only be accomplished with the assistance and support of Allah Almighty. Therefore, in the face of apparent difficulties, we should rely on support and protection of the All-Knowing and Powerful Allah rather than looking for temporal help. May Allah be your helper and protector and shower His blessings and bounties on you.

The days of Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha are particularly blessed. These are days for the acceptance of prayers and supplications. On this occasion, we should, as a Jamaat, collectively pray that Allah might provide the means for the triumph of His religion. That He may grant ascendancy to the followers of the Holy Prophet [Muhammad] (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) and free them of their anxieties. That He removes all difficulties besetting the Muslim Ummah [Nation] and guides them in the resolution of their problems.

On behalf of the Central Anjuman and on my own behalf I wish all the women, men and children associated with the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement all over the world a very happy Eid.

Seeker of your prayers,
Abdul Karim Saeed Pasha
