The Golden Rule

Al-Ahmadiyya, August 1979 Issue (Vol. 1, No. 8, p. 2)

Muhammad:

No one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.

Jesus:

Whatever you would have me do to you, do you also unto them.

Confucius:

Do not unto others what you would not that they do unto you.

Gautama, the Buddha:

Hurt not others with that which pains yourself.

Hinduism:

Do naught to others which, if done to you, would cause thee pain.

Jainism:

A man should treat all beings as he himself would be treated.

Zoroastrianism:

That nature, only, is good that does not unto another whatever is not good for himself.

Judaism

What is hurtful to yourself, do not unto other men.
