My maternal uncle, Professor Muhammad Fazil, died on 30th January 1980. He was at Faisalabad at that time with his son, Dr. Shaikh Altaf Ahmad. His body was brought to Jhelum for burial. Last month, on 23rd February, we offered funeral prayer for him at the Ahmadiyya House. He was a simple, kind-hearted, pious Ahmadi. At times his prayers were accepted and many of his dreams came true. I would quote only one instance.
A few years ago, my father-in-law, Shaikh Abdul Aziz of Jhelum, came to England with a serious complaint and the doctors decided to operate on him. My uncle kept on praying for his recovery and he wrote to us that in answer to his prayers he had been told that no operation would be needed. My father-in-law could not believe it. The same day he was taken to the operation theatre. After checking his last x-rays, just before the operation, the doctor sent him back to his ward saying:
“His disease has been cured, no operation is needed.”
When I conveyed the news to Dr. Nazir-ul-Islam on the phone, he felt very sad and told me that he was a pupil of Professor Muhammad Fazil and it was because of him that he saw the light of Ahmadiyyat.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
