Poem: When Friends Meet
Sung at the Ahmadiyya Convention in Trinidad

Here we are gathered now as one
We have come from so many different lands
To make some new friends
And meet again the old
We are brothers and sisters in Islam
We’ll praise Allah and stay within Islam
It is the only path to perfect peace
Time and distance — they may keep us apart
But Islam will unite us
Young and old, every one of us
We will reaffirm that God is One
Let us now reflect and start again our quest
For the truth and for knowledge of Islam
At the end it must be true to say
That these days have enriched all our lives
Let us now be joined as one in faith
With an increase in knowledge in Islam
Islam is a religion for everyone
Even if you are black or white, yellow or brown
It means peace to mankind, we are brothers all
None of us is different, so come to Allah’s call.
