The Qadiani Violation of Ahmadiyya Teachings

The Clash of Qadiani Beliefs with Teachings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian

by Dr. Zahid Aziz

About this Book

This book shows the stark contrast and conflict between certain basic beliefs of the Qadiani movement, which were developed after the death of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (d. 1908), and the actual teachings given by this great Muslim Reformer and Promised Messiah.

It deals with four Qadiani beliefs and practices:

  1. Their belief that no person can be a Muslim without accepting Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a prophet of God.
  1. Their refusal to treat other Muslims as fellow-Muslims by refusing to hold the Islamic funeral prayers for them.
  1. Their belief that prophets can come after the Holy Prophet Muhammad and that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was a prophet.
  1. Their system of rule by an autocratic khalifa [caliph] possessing absolute power.

The book shows that in each of these cases the Qadiani stand is the complete opposite of the beliefs and practice of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. He considered those Muslims who were outside his movement to be his fellow-Muslims, and fulfilled his Islamic fraternal duties towards them, including saying funeral prayers for their deceased. He believed that the Holy Prophet Muhammad was absolutely and unconditionally the Last Prophet, after whom no prophet can come, and he himself denied claiming to be a prophet. Finally, for the running of the Movement after him, he created a supreme, executive body which was to make decisions by mutual agreement.
