Friday Sermon: Servants of the Beneficent

by Dr. M. Saeed

9 June 2023 (Ahmadiyya Anjuman Ishaat-e-Islam Lahore, UK)

Before I start today’s Friday sermon, I would like to share some good news. The alahmadiyya.org team have recently acquired the handwritten notes of the Friday sermons and Sunday meeting talks delivered by the late elder of the AAIIL(UK) branch — Mr Majeed Ali.

He was originally from Georgetown, Guyana, and during that time a member of the Guyana Ahmadiyya Anjuman.

Towards the end of his life, he lived at the Darus Salaam, UK Centre for around 15 years and the UK Jamaat benefitted immensely from his knowledge. He had a great missionary zeal and fervour. Some of his missionary activities included sharing leaflets and wall hangings on Allah, Islam and Ahmadiyyat. Some of these have been preserved on alahmadiyya.org.

He was a fearless man and would spread the message of Islam and Ahmadiyyat near London’s Central Mosque and the Hyde Park. He was also proficient in the rebuttal of Christian missionary propaganda.

He passed away some twenty years ago on 24th May 2003. Please do pray for his maghfirat (forgiveness). Aameen.

Today’s sermon is based on the text of his sermon dated 13th April 1990. The alahmadiyya.org team have given the sermon the title of ‘Servant of the Beneficent’.

I thought it would be a great opportunity to share his knowledge and wisdom with you today.

The text of that previously unpublished sermon was then read out for the benefit of the members and is available here.
